The Template Builder is where you will go to set up, edit and save your model templates.
Feel free to skip this step if you have already downloaded the Lawyaw Template Builder.
There are two ways to download the Template Builder:
You can also download the Template Builder through the Microsoft Word Add-In Store.
After you have initially installed the Template Builder, you are able to open it through the Lawyaw logo on your Microsoft Word ribbon.
In the lessons that follow, you will learn some best practices and strategies to help you successfully set up templates. One thing to keep in mind is that setting up a template is more art than science.
You should be flexible in the way you approach setting up templates. If you're too mechanical, you may miss the nuances of the document and the template may not be as complete or effective as it could be. Often times, there may be some trial and error before you get it right.
The Template Builder and the Platform are inherently connected because setting up templates in the Template Builder is how the "Journey" that will be followed to generate documents from the template through the Platform is built.
You can request up to 5 free templates to add to your account here. These jumpstart templates -- spanning several jurisdictions and practice areas -- provide some examples that can help you convert your documents into model templates, but the jumpstart templates also can be used to get you up and running with Lawyaw while you develop your own custom templates. (You also can use Template Builder to modify the jumpstart templates to fit your practice!)
